Baby in a Box

We continue to enjoy all the delicious offerings from our Bountiful Basket (but I could use more kale recipes, anyone?). Jacob and I know how much fun the cat has playing in the boxes, but now we know that we can buy enough time to whip up an apple/blueberry crisp with a little cardboard entertainment.

So far, Augie thinks EVERYTHING is delicious from our Bountiful Basket!

Baby in a box!

Pumpkin Patch

Aunt Terri Ann was in town the for weekend, so after a delicious Bubba's breakfast (A.S.H. had plums), we hit the town square for an overdose of family fun time. It was "the place" to see and be seen for the under 2.1 crowd. Needless to say, it turned into a photo shoot, and here are some of our favs . . .
"Terri and Darren, sitting in a pumpkin patch . . ."

Which one would you pick?

There's a cute lil' punkin!

Family photo!

HAPPY Halloween!

Handsome boy.

Sweet as pumpkin pie!

Just BEET it!

Where's my medal of "bravery"? I fed the baby beets! Beets in, beets out. Beets everywhere. Seriously.
So brave to try new things!

Yummers!

On Wisconsin!

Thanks to Grammy and Papa Strom for the sweet Wisconsin Badger sweat suit. It was perfect for a chilly Saturday. While we cheered for the Badgers, we searched the sea of red for Grammy and Papa who were at the game. Go team!

Crawling now, but watch out Badger marching band!

While Mami watches the football game . . .

. . . in sweeps Daddy for the tackle!!!

Open wide!

Our eating adventures have continued without a hitch. In addition to LOTS of organic fruits and veggies, Augie has now tasted sugar and dye (thanks amoxicillin). To me, it is just a miracle how he trusts us with whatever we offer and how his body learns to love (and process) all the new flavors and textures. Most recently, he has devoured spaghetti squash, or maybe just distributed it . . . to be honest. He has also shown a love for cinnamon (with milk, bananas and pears), his first spice!

Delicious medicine!

Anything you want, Grammy!

Yellowstone!

So, I'm embarrassed to admit, but it had been two years since I had been up to Yellowstone. Thanks to Jacob, Grammy and Augie, we spent a long, beautiful day driving to Old Faithful . . . and back. One highlight for me was the darling Latino family we chatted with (in Spanish) who called A.S.H. "un osito precioso". So true.

Since the baby won't look at the camera, let's all look left.

Ol' Faithful!

Quick (French) kiss for Grammy!

Wyoming Wedding!

This week, Jacob and I were featured by Wyoming Wedding, as they look ahead to winter weddings. Hee, hee. Nice way to wrap up our anniversary week!

Lunchdate!

Busy hands!

Hands free to eat! (and take self-portraits)
As I prepare to shovel down my school lunch today, I'm remembering a delightful Saturday lunch we shared with Grammy during her visit. We loved sharing a meal and conversation in an actual restaurant (with actual cocktails!). Happy times!

Such a BIG boy!

First highchair experience! Thanks Bubba's!

Well, it may not be "crawling", but he gets wherever he needs to go!
As Augie makes his way through a variety of social circles this fall, everyone wants to know how old he is. When they head "eight months", the immediate response is, "Wow! He's big!" Well, our strapping young man has been fed only the best of Mami-milk and organic fruits and veggies, and he continues to grow at an astonishing rate! In fact, some mornings he looks bigger (and smarter) than the night before. Everyday is full of growth and discoveries.

8 months!

Our happy, fun-loving boy celebrated his 8th month with his 7th tooth and lots of grins to show it off. He continues to delight all that he meets (during the daytime). In fact, one of his "Hedgehog" teachers, from the Childrens' Learning Center (his Tu/Th home), openly admits that Augie is the best baby and easily her favorite of the class. That's our boy!
