Lunch Dates

Another chapter in Augie's short life is coming to a close. Jacob is headed back to work for the season, meaning that we're shifting our childcare plan (again). We have enjoyed opportunities a couple of days a week to get together for family lunches. It started as a nurse-date, but has shifted to a much more social call. We try to hide out in my office, but a certain young gentleman's social nature seemed to take over . . .

Sweetest part of the work day!

This student comes to say "hola" every chance he gets!

In. His. Element.

"Yah, yah, yah!" cheering on the a capella ladies!

We'll have fun, fun, fun!

Our busy boy is interacting with his toys in new ways as he gets more and more mobile. Toys that held no interest before are surfacing again, and everything in the house has become a climbing structure. One day after work last week, I came home to find him running laps around our ottoman, yelling at the top of his lungs. This kid's got energy to burn!

Can I ride my bike like this?

Yes!

Wanna shoot some hoops?

Deeeeee-lish!

On the move!

Buenas Noches, Augusto

Our smiling baby boy is downright cherubic from sunup to sundown, but anyone who has checked in lately knows, he's not earning any gold stars in the sleeping department. We've been working on having a set of bedtime rituals that he enjoys (sometimes a little too much). Here's a glimpse into the 7:00-8:00 hour at our house . . .
Augie likes to help spread his night time lotion on his chest and arms.

Using the lip-smacking toothpaste brought by the Easter Bunny.

He gets a turn after Mami gets a turn.

Pausing for a few kisses on those cheeks!

Who wants to go to bed when there's this much cuteness?
(p.s. yes! that's his hair in the back! hooray!)

Then we head downstairs to read a few books.

This musical book of international lullabies is his current favorite.
The recorded book of Good Night, Moon from Grammy and Papa is a close second.

14 months

Our darling boy is well into his 14th month. His major accomplishment (among many) is the milestone of becoming a walker. He mastered how to pick himself up when he falls--a major life skill--and is even choosing to walk, instead of crawl, with more frequency. He's sure speedy!

At church they ask, "Is he ever NOT smiling?"

14 MONTHS, WALKING!
