Dream Big

A blessing for Augie as his baptism day approaches:

DREAM BIG
(Ryan Shupe & The Rubberband)

When you cry, be sure to dry your eyes,
'Cause better days are sure to come.
And when you smile, be sure to smile wide,
And don't let them know that they have won.
And when you walk, walk with pride,
And don't show the hurt inside,
Because the pain sill soon be gone.
(Chorus)

And when you dream, dream big,
As big as the ocean, blue.
'Cause when you dream it might come true.
But when you dream, dream big.
And when you laugh, be sure to laugh out loud,
'Cause it will carry all your cares away.
And when you see, see the beauty all around and in yourself,
And it will help you feel okay.
And when you pray, pray for strength to help to carry on,
But when the troubles come your way.
(Chorus)

And when you dream, dream big,
As big as the ocean, blue.
'Cause when you dream it might come true.
But when you dream, dream big.
(Dream big.)
(Dream big.)
When you cry be sure to dry your eyes,
cause better days are sure to come.
And when you smile be sure to smile wide, and
don't let them know that they have one.
And when you laugh be sure to laugh out loud,
'Cause it will carry all your cares away.
And when you see, see the beauty all
around and in yourself, and it will help you feel okay.
And when you pray, pray for strength to
help to carry on when the troubles come your way.

Sick-o

Augustus has come down with his first cold. Poor baby! On Saturday morning he thought his nose-whistle was hilarious, but it was downhill from there. By Sunday morning we left church early due to the heart wrenching sighs and whimpers from the young lad. Stuffy nose, aches, cough and low fever make his little face look so sad like he's wondering why we don't help him feel better!

Make it better Daddy!

Brunch Crasher

Yesterday Augie caught a glimpse into a sacred ritual. Girl's brunch! Normally we gather in the evenings, but this time we met midday. We brought elk chilaqiles and also enjoyed sesame salmon, banana bread, fruit salad, artichokes, quiche and bloody marys! But the true highlights are the conversations and "agenda items" as we catch up on each other's lives. Love these gals!

One of thing is not like the others . . .

Guest appearance from the Hjelt family!

Thursday and Friday CARE

Yep. Intended empasis on the "care". Our dear friend Andrea watches sweet Augustus on the days when both Mami and Daddy are busy working. Augie has a great time with Andrea's sons and comes home fun of stories from the day. We know he's in good hands!

Big Boy Plans

Important update for Augie's baptism!
The party/reception following the baptism has been moved from our home to Shepherd of the Mountains Lutheran Church. Feliz cumple Rio!

On Cinco de Mayo we celebrated Rio's 4th birthday complete with singing, candles, moist food and a new pink puff ball!

Back to School!

On May 11th, Kjera headed back to school to wrap-up the school year. The most common question we've heard is, "Are you ready?" I'm never sure how to answer that one. It is wonderful to reconnect with my students and colleagues, but I certainly miss that precious little boy! The second question we hear is, "What are you doing for childcare?" In that aspect, we have really been blessed. For the next six weeks, Jacob will be with Augie Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday. On Thursdays and Fridays, our dear friend Andrea (mom to Asher and Eli) will be taking the reigns. And the weekends are for Mami!

On his first morning, heading to Andrea's house.
